Washington, D.C.-based artist Melvin Nesbitt Jr takes over The Contemporary Creatives’ Instagram and gives us a behind-the-scenes look at his daily routine at the studio, processes, and current inspirations!⁠

Melvin Nesbitt Jr is a visual storyteller. His current artworks are stories set in the early 1980s, the decade of his youth. Inspired by his boyhood memories of the housing project where he lived from kindergarten through the sixth grade, he creates imagery that deals with community, friendship, the joy of childhood and, the Black American experience.
